From DevOps to LegalOps: Award-Winning Legal OS by AgiLawyer

A Milestone at the JetBrains Partner Summit
At this year’s JetBrains Partner Summit, AgiLawyer had the opportunity to share its journey of bringing structured workflow thinking into the legal world. Our CEO, Ondřej Dvořák, presented how we’ve adapted YouTrack to fit legal practice—and we were proud to receive the Product Professional Award during the event.
When Agile Meets Legal Reality
The story we shared on stage goes back several years, to a simple assumption: that Agile principles could be applied to legal teams in the same way they are used in software development. The reality turned out to be more complex. Early on, a lawyer asked a seemingly basic question—“What do you mean by task?”—and it became clear that the biggest barrier wasn’t technology, but language and perspective.
Legal professionals don’t think in tickets or sprints. They think in cases, responsibilities, and outcomes. Trying to impose unfamiliar frameworks without translation leads to confusion and low adoption.
A Different Approach: Translate, Don’t Transform
This insight shaped our entire approach. Instead of forcing change, we focused on translating tools into the natural language and workflows of the sector.
Over time, this evolved into a simple, repeatable model: diagnose, simplify, pilot, and scale. It starts with understanding how work actually happens, identifying repeatable patterns in legal cases, and gradually introducing structure in a way that feels intuitive rather than disruptive.
Why Simplicity Wins
A key principle behind our work is simplicity. If a workflow cannot be explained clearly and quickly, it will not be adopted. This mindset has guided both our implementations and product thinking, ensuring that systems remain usable for professionals who are not primarily focused on technology.

Beyond Legal: A Broader Message
While the examples shared at the Summit came from legal environments, the broader message resonated across the partner community. Every industry has its own language, culture, and way of working—and successful solutions must reflect that reality.
Recognition and What’s Next
Receiving the Product Professional Award was a meaningful recognition of this approach. It highlights not just what can be built with YouTrack, but how partners can create scalable, sector-specific solutions by combining strong technology with deep domain understanding.
For us, the Summit was not only a chance to present, but also to connect with other partners exploring similar paths in different industries. It reinforced a shared direction: moving from generic implementations toward tailored systems that truly fit the way people work.
We’re excited to keep building on this momentum—both within the legal sector and beyond.
